Maynard Rolston

Maynard Rolston was raised in Oklahoma City and graduated from Oklahoma State University and then served three years as an officer in the Air Force. After being honorably discharged he was employed by Continental Oil Company, as a management trainee, in Kansas City. His training time was cut short and he then learned computer programming.

The next ten years was spent in the computer field in which he wrote several hundred business computer programs and helped set up five computer systems. It was during this time he greatly improved his management, organization and business process improvement (BPI) skills.

He was then offered an administrative assistant position for a Vice President, responsible for about 70% of the company’s sales. His new boss was the most organized person he had every met. It was during this time he further improved his organization and management skills.

Three years later he was appointed manager of a 10 million dollar sales division that had not produced a profit for seven years. In the next five years, the division realized a total sales increase of 45% and contributed $2.6 million in operating profit. He was then given a challenge to direct a new sales division. During the next 4 years, this division enjoyed a 50% increase in sales and profit contribution increased 1.5 million dollars.

In 1981, he then entered the management consulting field. For the next few years, he worked with company executives showing them how to increase their company profitability. He then discovered one of the easier ways to increase company profits was to improve both executives and their employees organization and management skills. He then started teaching people how to get more done and work less. The best way to get results for the client was to implement the changes while he was there. This approach immediately improved his clients productivity!

In addition to teaching people individually, he conducts workshops and speaks at organizations and conventions. He has had articles published in news publications and published a book, based on his consulting experience, titled Time Management is an Oxymoron

Maynard lives in the Kansas City area, plays golf when he can. He still conducts workshops and works individually with clients. Implementing changes while he is with the client has contributed greatly to his success as a management consultant.
